Judith was afraid he would say that. Stitches meant a needle had to patch her flesh together before the infection spread. A shiver ran through her body and she cringed at the thought of cold metal piercing her skin one by one in a lacing motion. “How about we say we did and forget this ever happened?“ She quirked a brow, but although she wanted to believe that the male would let her go without performing some medical procedure on her - the odds weren’t in her favors. A light groan escaped her lips pushing her shirt a bit higher so her blue hues could get a better look at the gash.
”—— Do it before I change my mind.” She mumbled.
His eyes focused on her wound as he listened to her try and get out of this. Ryan didn’t like needles either, but he’d rather it get patched up and made sterile than have it get infected and her ending up losing a hand or something. The soldier smiled, not responding to her as he reached for the alcohol. “On three, i’ll pour the alcohol on it, mmkay?” He paused, not even waiting for a response before he started counting. "1,2–“ Ryan didn’t even attempt to count to three as he poured the alcohol onto the wound on two. This was a technique used by many medics, that way you would be expecting pain on three, but receive it at two and it wouldn’t hurt as much.
Reaching for the needle and stitch, he made sure the wound would be able to heal fast and well. "Y'er hand might not heal for a few weeks, so try and not use the hand so much.” Ryan advised as he threaded the string into the needle. “Just breathe, don’t focus on the pain.” He continued to give instructions as he squinted his eyes. The needle pierced the skin, the soldier continued to weave it in and out of her wound as it began to seal shut. Biting the thread off with his teeth, he looked up at Judith with a smile.
Of course Judith didn’t know what that meant but that didn’t mean she wasn’t interested about the mans passed surviving skills at wars - what the hell that meant. For the first time, she didn’t commented or asked any more questions about his past life, she wasn’t one to pry. Everyone had a reason to hide things from people and Judith was well aware of that. When he grew closer, she flinched out of habit and calmed herself down while pushing her shirt up for the blonde male to see.
”Tell me straight up, how bad does it look?”
Ryan’s specialty, besides being a leader, was that he was a very skilled medic. He knelt closer to her as she lifted her shirt partway to reveal a bloody gash. “ Well considerin’ ya’ just cut yer'self on an arrow, it ain’t bad at all. " The soldier half grinned as his eyes examined the scar tissue that had begun forming. Although he had no medical supplies, he did always carry around three important things; peroxide and a needle and thread.
"We don’t want this to catch any infection, so we best stitch this up." He paused, meeting her eyes for her approval.
Judith looked down at her wound, luckily for her it wasn’t to deep that it pierced anything important. He was trying to help, she could see that but her stubbornness and her pride got the best of her - a trait from their family friend, Shane. Judith looked up at the male a little wary, to accept his help or not? “—— Not a bite. I landed on one of my arrows trying to escape some bandits..” She huffed a breath. “Are you some kind of doctor?”
“ No–uh, squad leader of HQ, 1st Infantry Division. " He paused; ” Not like ya know what that means, but let’s just say i'ma very skilled man at survivin’ wars. “ Ryan continued, hesitant on letting this stranger know, even a little, of his past. The soldier lowered to his knees to get a better look at the wound. "D'ya mind?” The blonde reached out to examine the wound, slowly.
“Shut up.” The brunette held the open wound at her side and hissed. “You don’t have to bullshit me, I know it doesn’t look good. Save the dramatics.”
“ Just tryin’ to help. " He muttered under his breath, thinking of offering his medical skills to help her out for the time being. "If ya’d like, not that ya haf'ta, but I could take a look at it? It'a bite?" The soldier asked hesitantly.
